The WHA vs the North Stars
Did you know that during the years between 1972 and 1978 teams
from the World Hockey Association faced off against their NHL
counterparts in fall exhibition games? The North Stars never played
their cross town rivals, the Minnesota Fighting Saints. But, the
competition for the hockey dollar between these two clubs was fierce
and many think that it was the cause of the North Stars attendence
woes in the early 70's
